Salon and spa furniture for Africa: growing trade, durable design and safe shipping
Trade between Türkiye and Africa is expanding. According to Anadolu data reported by Daily Sabah, Türkiye's exports to Africa reached about $13.3 billion in January–July 2026, up 12.6% year on year, with Morocco, Egypt, Libya, Algeria and Tunisia among the largest destinations and fast growth to South Africa and Nigeria. For a salon or spa owner, what matters is furniture that survives the journey and the daily use.

What the trade figures do and do not say
The figures cover all Turkish exports, not furniture or salon products specifically, and they say nothing about demand in any one city. We cite them only to show that routes, forwarders and commercial relationships between Türkiye and Africa are active. Each country has its own import duties, standards and paperwork, so always ask your customs broker.
What African salons and spas need from furniture
- Durable construction that tolerates heavy daily use, with sturdy hardware and surfaces that are easy to wipe clean. See solid wood vs MDF.
- Simple, repairable designs: replacement parts and clear care instructions matter when a workshop is far away.
- Finishes suited to heat and humidity: tell us the climate and we will advise.
- Pieces that work with the electricity and space you actually have, such as manual-height options and compact layouts.
Shipping to Africa without surprises
- Choose the delivery term deliberately; see our Incoterms guide. For a first order, CIF to your port is often the simplest, but ask about insurance cover.
- Ask for protective packing: film, bubble wrap, cartons and a wooden crate on a marked pallet; see ISPM 15.
- Agree who clears the goods and who delivers from the port to your door.
- Ask for photos of the packed goods before loading.
